Eating out in Sorrento

Cafe Latino felt like an oasis of calm when we stumbled across it, located just off the wide Corso Italia in Sorrento town. Hidden between two buildings, you walk down a shaded pathway and into a hidden garden full of beautiful cream parasols, pergola's and lemon trees with tables dotted underneath.
The staff were so friendly and engaging with our toddler, making him giggle and laugh throughout our visit. He demolished the bread, tasted the balsamic vinegar and loved his homemade fresh pasta.
As for the adults, we drank delicious prosecco and ate beautiful lemon, basil and prawn pasta and pizza under a lemon tree in the Sorrento sunshine - safe to say our brief had been fulfilled.
La Gustoteca, Sant'Agnello
Oh my goodness, I have never seen pasta so beautiful. We saw this restaurant come highly recommended online so thought we would give it a go. We stopped by for lunch and there were only us and a Peruvian couple in there. The lady running the restaurant spoke no English and we spoke only a little Italian but the menu was all via QR code which helped but not with our decisions as it all sounded so delicious.
The other couple recommended some dishes to us as they had been before and had had to come back and try some more which is always a great sign. My partner ordered the Carbonara and I ordered the Amatriciana - oh my it was so delicious and all freshly made in front of us in the small open kitchen whilst we watched and chatted with our neighbours.
There were no high chairs for our toddler but the handmade pasta she made him was so exquisitely beautiful, like exotic curled sea shells with fluted edges in a homemade pomodoro sauce.
One of the best meals we had - a simple one woman trattoria, simple, delicious, traditional.

The best pizza we have eaten, over looking the bay of Naples and only E10 or less each. It was unbelievably good value for money and utterly delicious. Our toddler discovered a love for arancini balls which kept him occupied whilst we enjoyed our pizza before walking home to watch the sun set over the Bay.
